The 50th International Euchristic Congress was held in Dublin from the 10th of june to 17th of june. The main theme of the Congress was Eucharist: Communion with God. Communion with one another. The opening ceremony was held on the 10th of june with the Eucharistic celebration in the afternoon presided over by our Holy Father’s delegate His Eminence Cardinal Quellet. There were around 11000 pilgrims partook in the opening ceremony from all over the world. Then each day the programme started with morning prayer conducted by a Bishop and then followed by workshops, films, talks and discussions in various places in the Royal Dublin Society building. It is a great building with many facilities and it has a main arena which has a capacity for seating 20000 people. The main arena programmes begin in the afternoon with a catechesis by a Bishop followed by testimonies from laypersons. It concluded with beautiful Eucharist liturgical celebrations. There were lot of choices for pilgrims to partake in whatever workshop they wish to to follow .
It was well organized and I partook in workshops and talks whatever was relevant for our situation and volunteered to assist for confessions. The final closing ceremony will be held on the 17 th of june in a big park here and 80,000 people are expected to participate.
