Short Note on my life and mission in Germany.
I arrived in Germany on the 20th of September, 2009 and immediately after two days I was sent by the Provincial of the Central European Province, Fr. Thomas Klosterkamp OMI, to another city called Bonn, the former capital of Germany to begin my language course. I resided at a Students Hostel there which is also attached to the Language Institute. I started my Language Course on the 23rd of September, 2012. I followed a seven months’ Intensive Course here. I concluded my language studies on the 03rd of May, 2013 and went back to the Provincial House, in Mainz. At the request of the Provincial, I came to another Oblate Community in the Northwest of Germany at Borken-Burlo, which is located at the border of Netherland. There are about fifteen Oblates living in this community and they are very nice and hospitable to me and I feel very much at home. At the moment, I am working out my Driving License. I am starting my work in one of our Oblate Missions here in the Diocese of Munster, Germany on the 01st of July and I will be officially installed on the 06th of July, 2013. There are three parishes under our administration. I will be serving as the Assistant Pastor to another Oblate and both of us will be fully in-charge of this Mission and at the same time, the member of the Community also will be helping us in our Mission.
Thank you.
Fr. D.A. Meno Basti Jayantha OMI
