Fr. Lucas Regini Jude Avalin OMI was ordained on the 28th of May 2015 as the 91st priest for the Province of Jaffna. He was ordained by Bishop Thomas Saundaranayagam, at St.Mary’s Cathedral, with six other priests for the Diocese of Jaffna.
Fr. Avalin’s companions Fr. Manuelpillai Patrick Prashanth omi and Fr. Seemanpillai Alstan Roche omi were already ordained on April 8, 2015 at St. Sebastian’s Cathedral, Mannar, by Bishop Rayappu joseph. Since Fr. Avlin has lost his mother, his eldest sister assumed the role of mother and presented her “son” to the Oblate community.
