Nallur Swami Gnana Prakasar OMI  (1875-1947) played a defining role in the Revival and Expansion of Catholicism in Jaffna in the first quarter of the twentieth century. While the Revivial had started already in the latter half of the nineteenth century, the movement of Expansion spearheaded by Swami Gnana Pragasar reached its peak in the second and third decades of the last century.

Omijaffna.com learns that Fr. Stany Antony OMI,  is about to make a trip to Ireland to take part in the Eucharistic Conference in the month of June  2012. Recently Father Stany Antony has been appointed  Superior of the Preaching band of the Jaffna Province.  He  is a Professor of  Theology  at  St. Francis Xavier’s Seminary,  Jaffna and a visiting lecturer at Tamil Theologate of Jaffna Diocese.

Rev. of  Fr. P.P.Philip OMI,  completes  his 50 years 0f service  in   Priestly Ministry.  He was  the former Provincial of the Jaffna Province. He has been a successful missionary in different ministries  in  various places. He was a missionary in India and in South Africa,  especially in the field of spiritual animation for Priests, Nuns and Seminarians.
