REPORTS from the HOSPITAL

We, the Jaffna Teaching Hospital Catholic Committee organized the Lenten Pilgrimage to Chaddy for the Hospital working staff and the Volunteers on 6th and 13th of March. They meaningfully participated in The Way of the Cross, Blessed Sacrament Adoration and Eucharistic Celebration. In the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, they followed the health guidelines and actively participated in these programmes in a prayerful manner. We appreciate Rev. Fr. Jegankumar Coonghe, OMI and his administrative community to welcome us with generous hospitality. We too have prayerful Holy Week liturgy at the Hospital Chapel. It is the special gifts of blessing from God to the patients and staff.
The catholic committee of Jaffna Teaching Hospital organized a seminar for hospital staff and Post Basic Ward Management staff on “Emotional Catharsis” which was conducted by Rev. Fr. Selva Vijendran, OMI, the Director of ICOF and visiting lecturer at Jaffna University. There were around hundred participants who benefited from this programme. They also promised to have more workshops for their future career.
We organized the Lenten Charity programme to the patients in the ‘Dialysis Unit’. From the contribution of the nursing students and of some people we shared some gifts for the patients. We sincerely thank our students as well as donors for their Lenten Charity.
