The Malarum Mulai Community Development Programme took another meaningful step towards empowering children and women through a series of community-based development initiatives presented by the Provincial on 6 November 2026.
As part of the programme, dance classes were introduced for children, providing them with opportunities to develop their talents, creativity and confidence. Dancing costumes were also distributed to encourage and support the young participants.
In addition, new small women's groups were formed to promote livelihood development and economic self-reliance. Tailoring classes also commenced, equipping women with practical vocational skills and opportunities for income generation.
Furthermore, Suyathavi Kuzhu (Self-Help Groups) were initiated to encourage women to work together, support one another and strengthen their families' economic well-being.
These initiatives reflect the vision of the Malarum Mulai Community Development Programme: building stronger communities by nurturing children's talents, empowering women and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
